Code of practice for planning and development
BS42020:2013 was published in August 2013 and is the first British Standard on biodiversity management. This British Standard seeks to promote transparency and consistency in the quality and appropriateness of ecological information submitted with planning applications and applications for other regulatory approvals.
It is intended to assist those concerned with ecological issues as they arise through the planning process, and in matters relating to consented development and activities involved in the management and use of land outside the scope of land use planning, which could have site specific ecological implications.
Wildwood Ecology provides robust survey methodology and high standards for reporting and conforms with BS42020:2013 as standard. All our ecologists are professionally trained and highly experienced, and are members of the Chartered Institute of Environment and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
Wildwood Ecology has expertise in undertaking surveys for all British protected species and understands their ecological requirements.
