Wildwood Ecology is a Certified B Corporation

We are excited to announce that we are now a Certified B Corporation(R) and, what’s more, are the FIRST ecological consultancy company within the UK and Europe to achieve the accreditation!

Richard Dodd comments that “Society’s most challenging problems cannot be solved by government and non-profits alone. As a Certified B Corporation Wildwood Ecology will work toward reducing inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of more high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose within our sector.”

He further went on to say that “The certification as a B Corporation comes on the back of Wildwood Ecology winning the Small Consultancy of the Year at our industry (Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management) awards back in June 2019. Both accolades demonstrate our commitment to providing a positive impact for our employees, clients, communities, and the environment. I’m truly honoured to represent a forward-thinking and responsible company.”

As background, B Corp(TM) Certification is the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. It evaluates how a company’s operations and business model impact their workers, community, environment and customers. From supply chain and input materials to charitable giving and employee benefits.

Certified B Corporations (B Corps) are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

Positive impact is supported by transparency and accountability requirements, as Richard comments, “B Corp Certification doesn’t just prove where our company excels now—it commits us to consider stakeholder impact for the long term by building it into our company’s legal structure (Articles of Association).”

We will therefore continue to honour our vision and values and will provide further information on our progress, in the spirit of public transparency, in due course. We are working on something even bigger and can not wait to share this with you before the end of July.
