Consultant Ecologist – Stroud or Caerphilly office – £25K – £30K

The role

We are looking for a talented, like-minded, individual to join our team ahead of the 2023 survey season. We seek a qualified Consultant Ecologist for either our Stroud or Caerphilly office.  We don’t want you to travel too far (with overnight stays being one-offs), so being within easy reach of South Wales or the Cotswolds is favourable.  There is no set requirement to work in the office, but it’s a great place for us to meet.

As a member of the delivery team, you will be required to independently undertake a range of ecological site assessments and protected species surveys. You will confidently engage with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders and be able to prepare and issue high-quality reports.

What we look for

With a minimum of two years experience working within a similar environment, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills and be proficient in report writing.  You will appreciate the commercial aspect of ecological consultancy, whilst also share our vision and values as a certified B Corporation.

Why Wildwood?

Wildwood offers a particularly friendly, supportive and inclusive environment in which staff thrive.  Our Career Progression Framework document provides a transparent guide to the company structure, where you fit within that, and the steps needed to further your career.  We aim to grow and nurture our own talent, and recognise the need for career progression.  There are plenty of opportunities for promotion and, under the guidance of a Principal, you will be fully supported to receive appropriate training and achieve your career goals.

Enabling a real work life balance plays a crucially important role in establishing Wildwood’s unique culture. Wellbeing days, volunteer days, lunch-time board games and team socials all help to make Wildwood an incredibly special place to work.

The offer

A generous salary is complemented by a fantastic benefits package including but not limited to; agile working arrangements, TOIL, volunteering & wellbeing days, as well as a health care cash plan and bonus schemes.   To learn more, read About us and  download the Job Description below.
